Cervelo has arrived!

Cervelo road bikes have arrived in store at Ride Ettalong.

For the past 16 years, Cervelo designs have pushed the limits of engineering, with their bicycles helping athletes earn victories from Paris to Kona. Cervelo strives to produce the world’s fastest, lightest and stiffest road bikes – not only for professionals, but for the everyday rider.

The S series:

These bikes are not only faster in the wind tunnel, but proven in the real world. Stiff enough to win professional sprint finishes including the World Championships and the green Points Leader’s jersey at the Tour de France, yet light enough to climb the steepest cols. The best choice for every riding condition.

The R series:

Cervel’s R-series bicycles are engineered to optimize strength, stiffness and comfort, while offering low weight in every situation. On the podium at Paris-Roubaix six times in six starts – with three victories on the R3, the R-series combines all the benefits of a stiff and light bicycle with the strength and comfort needed to win on the cobbles of northern France.

The P series:

Cervelo’s Triathlon/Time trial bicycles have won more pro races than any other and are by far the most popular bicycles at Ironman and time trial events for athletes of all levels. The P series is the most copied Triathlon/TT bicycle in history.

With the arrival of Cervelo at Ride Ettalong, we continue our commitment to bringing market-leading brands to Central Coast riders.

The JetBlack 24hr MTB Race at Mt Annan

A 24hr MTB race in the Mt Annan botanical gardens. Just whose crazy idea was it to do this again? This year, Ride Ettalong was lucky enough to have 2 teams compete in the event, one in the Elite category and the other competing in the Masters category.

The race started at midday on the Saturday and finished at midday on Sunday. The course was around a 9.5km circuit  consisting of approximately 90% single-track. After some tactical discussions, we sent Phil out to start for the Elite Category team and Simon for the Masters Category Team. Consistent lap-times are the key to these type of events – it’s not about how fast you go, but how long you last. The best strategy is to alternate laps between the whole team through daylight hours and run 2-lap stints per rider throughout the night to give everyone a chance to rest.

It was an awesome effort from the Masters Category Team who won the 4-man Masters Category.

Unfortunately the Elite Category Team tried to live up to the Elite name-tag and ran a strategy of how fast can you go rather than how long you can last. They went into the night stage of the race sitting comfortably in 5th position, but after sitting out for 5hrs, ended up in 15th position in the 4-man Elite Category.

A big thank you to the guys and their families for all their support during the event. Can’t wait for next year!
